Hixson Lecture Series Scheduled at Baylor Feb. 18-19

February 13, 1998

Coach Grant Teaff and former Baylor football player Walter Abercrombie will speak to Baylor University students as part of the Hixson Lecture series. Teaff will speak during Chapel-Forum at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in Waco Hall. Abercrombie will speak at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, in Bennett Auditorium.
The Hixson lectures were endowed by James Hixson III and Milton Hixson in honor of their parents, James E. and Ward Ella Hixson. Although the couple never attended Baylor, they supported their three sons who attended Baylor.
Teaff says he hopes to inspire students to pursue God's will for their lives. "There are many great young people at Baylor trying to decide what to study and what to do with their lives. I'm going to talk about the calling in our lives, how God calls each of us to His purpose for our lives, and how you go about preparing for God's will, even though it's not clear or written in fire."
The Hixson Lecture series is sponsored by the Center for Christian Education in the Baylor School of Education. For more information, call Randy Wood at the Center for Christian Education at 710-2410.
