WACO, Texas (Feb. 18, 2019) – The C-SPAN Bus – a 45-foot, state-of-the-art mobile classroom – will be traveling through Central Texas this week in partnership with its cable and satellite affiliates. The C-SPAN Bus will make a stop on the Baylor University campus from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, on Speight Avenue between Waco Hall and Tidwell Bible Building.

The C-SPAN Bus is an interactive, multimedia classroom that travels the country to engage with community members and elected officials, showcasing C-SPAN’s public affairs programming and resources. The customized motor coach stops at book festivals, high schools and universities to host students and teachers around the nation, giving them an inside look at C-SPAN’s comprehensive educational and political resources. The C-SPAN Bus provides:

  • Access to an exclusive interactive experience available on 11 large-screen tablets featuring C-SPAN programming, as well as political and educational resources.
  • A smart TV and classroom area for conversations with students and teachers.
  • A high-definition TV production studio for taped and live programming.
  • A 360-degree video station featuring C-SPAN’s unfiltered coverage of high-profile events and insightful, behind-the-scenes tours of U.S. landmarks.
  • A D.C.-themed selfie station where visitors can share their Bus experiences through social media.

The C-SPAN Bus has been traveling around the country since 1993, and has been featured at 8,000 events and hosted 1.5 million visitors, including 40,000 teachers and 800,000 students. The bus last visited Baylor in January 2014.
