Baylor University and the city of Waco rolled out the green and gold carpet Sept. 2 at the Ferrell Center for Baylor track stars Jeremy Wariner and Darold Williamson, who combined to win three gold medals at the Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
A boisterous crowd of about 1,500 cheering fans heard words of appreciation from the gold medalists and their coach, Clyde Hart, who is entering his 43rd year as head coach of the Baylor track program.
The event also featured replays on the BaylorVision scoreboards of the 400 meter race, won by Wariner, and the 4x400 meter relay. Wariner ran the third leg of the race, with anchor Williamson crossing the finish line with the fastest time in the world this year.
