MEDIA ADVISORY

Award-winning singer/songwriter Steven Curtis Chapman and Baylor University President Robert B. Sloan Jr. will hold a news conference at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20, in Barfield Drawing Room on the second floor of Baylor's Bill Daniel Student Center.
Chapman, whose eldest daughter will be a Baylor freshman, will make an announcement regarding the fourth annual Balloon Glow and Concert, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco. This year's free event will be held in conjunction with the Curves Balloon Classic Sept. 17-19 in the skies over Central Texas.
Last year's Balloon Glow and Concert, featuring Sonicflood and Point of Grace, drew more than 20,000 fans for an evening of family-friendly entertainment. Organizers plan to open seating on all three sides of the stadium for Chapman's Sept. 18 performance, with 45,000 free seats available to the public. The event also will feature a laser show.
This year's theme for the Balloon Glow and Concert is "All Things New," which coincides with the release of Chapman's 14th album for Sparrow Records, "All Things New," on Sept. 21. Since 1987, Chapman has sold more than nine million records and recorded 41 No. 1 radio hits. He has received four consecutive GRAMMY awards, an American Music Award and 47 Dove Awards, more than any other artist to date.
Also participating in the news conference will be Gary and Diane Heavin, co-founders of Curves International, and Tim Wildmon, president of American Family Radio.
