Breakfast at Baylor Nov. 25 to Focus On Waco's Socioeconomic Status

Dr. J. Larry Lyon, professor of sociology and director of the Center for Community Research and Development at Baylor University, will speak on the "Socioeconomic Assessment of Waco" at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, in the Harrington House dining room at 1313 S. Eighth St.
The lecture is part of the Breakfast at Baylor series sponsored by the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce and Baylor.
The series was established to provide the academic and business communities of Waco with an opportunity to enjoy a meal, hear a brief lecture on a current issue by a Baylor faculty member and engage in informal conversation with other guests.
Lyon will examine the current socioeconomic condition of Waco and explain the criteria used to make the evaluation. As part of his presentation, he will discuss various economic factors in Waco and McLennan County and compare these statistics to cities such as Austin, Temple, Tyler and Odessa.
The cost is $10 for Chamber members and $15 for non-members. Also available will be a a $5 Fact Book with helpful graphs and statistics and an outline of the information Lyon will include in his lecture.
