Benefit Concert Nov. 21 to Raise Money for Scholarships

November 18, 1997

The Baylor University Golden Wave Marching Band will host a scholarship benefit concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in Waco Hall. Proceeds from the event will go to the School of Music scholarship fund and the Marching Band scholarship fund.
According to band director Jeff Grogan, the band will perform music from all of this year's half-time shows, including pieces from the Beatles, James Bond and a patriotic set. The master of ceremonies for the evening will be Dan Potter, news director of radio station WBAP in Dallas/Fort Worth. Potter is an avid supporter of marching bands and works closely with Baylor on televised football games.
In past years, the Golden Wave Marching Band has raised more than $20,000 for the scholarship fund. Tickets for the concert are $100 for patron seating, $10 for premium seating and $5 for regular seating.
