October 17, 1997

More than 300 students representing 63 countries world-wide will host Baylor University's International Week Oct. 20-25. International Week is designated by the Baylor International Programs Department to introduce students to different cultures and celebrate diversity at Baylor.
The week will include numerous events emphasizing the international flavor of Baylor. Cuisine from around the world will be featured in the Baylor cafeterias on different days through the week.
Coinciding with this year's International Week is a visit by the Abhinay School of Dance from New Delhi, India. The dance troupe will perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, in Roxy Grove Hall. The performance will include music and dance of the Indian culture and feature a special dance celebrating India's 50th Year of Independence.
The event is sponsored by the Indian SubContinent Student Association. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for non-students. For more information or to buy tickets, contact Dr. Daniel Rajaratman, associate professor of marketing, at 710-4545.
In addition to these events, Baylor international students will host Food Fest at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center. Food Fest is a cuisine-tasting fair in which the students prepare food samples representing more than 15 countries.
