Homecoming Cabaret Set for Oct. 31

October 17, 1997

Baylor University's Cabaret, a musical variety show, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 31, at Mary Gibbs Jones Theatre in the Glennis McCrary Music Building.
The show features Baylor ShowTime!, a group of 10 singers and three instrumentalists who act as Baylor's "performing trademark."
The group will be presenting numbers from the '70s, '80s and '90s including renditions of Three Dog Night's "Joy to the World," and Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence." The evening performance also will feature a tribute to the operetta as well as to Broadway revivals such as the musical Chicago. Leta Horan, assistant professor of piano, leads the group, and Jerry MacLauchlin is principal choreographer.
The show is open to the public. Tickets are $7.50 and are available at the Baylor Alumni Association office in Clifton Robinson Tower.
