Baylor's First Green and Gold Weekend Set for April 20-22

WACO, Texas (Jan. 26, 2018) – Baylor University will hold its first Green and Gold Weekend April 20-22, featuring events, concerts and opportunities for free fun for families.

Green and Gold Weekend will begin on Friday, April 20, with Baylor Fling, a two-day event for Baylor women that features guest speakers, discussions and a chance to reconnect with friends and make new friendships. Also on Friday, Baylor softball and baseball each will open a three-game Big 12 Conference series, with softball hosting Kansas at Getterman Stadium and baseball playing TCU at Baylor Ballpark. In addition, the Equestrian National Championship will be held Wednesday through Saturday at the Extraco Events Center in Waco.

On Saturday, April 21, Baylor football will hold its annual spring game with free admission at McLane Stadium, an event that will feature an end-of-season apparel sale. Baylor also will host its annual Community Day Tailgate in association with the football game, as well as the softball and baseball games. As part of the Community Day Tailgate, complimentary tickets will be available to both the Saturday softball and baseball games while supplies last. Details are forthcoming.

Saturday’s events also will include the Michael Johnson Invitational Track Meet at Clyde Hart Track and Field Stadium, as well as the annual President’s Concert, featuring performances from Baylor’s renowned School of Music at Jones Concert Hall. Both are ticketed events through www.baylorbears.com/tickets and www.baylor.edu/tickets, respectively.

Green and Gold Weekend will conclude on Sunday with free admission to the Baylor men’s tennis match vs. Texas at the Hurd Tennis Center, as well as a free concert by the Baylor Women’s Choir and Bella Voce at Seventh and James Baptist Church. Baylor softball and baseball also will play their final games in their weekend series.
