WACO, Texas (Oct. 27, 2017) — This week at Baylor there are various opportunities to attend artistic performances and hear renowned lecturers as the community celebrates Halloween.

MONDAY, Oct. 30

Chapel Highlights — Jim Marsh, Ph.D., Executive Director for Counseling Services, and the Baylor Men’s choir will address chapel at 9:05, 10:10 and 11:15 a.m. in Waco Hall, located at 698 Speight Ave. For more information, visit the chapel website.
Cherry Award Public Lecture by Dr. Heidi G. Elmendorf — Heidi G. Elmendorf, Ph.D., associate professor of biology at Georgetown University and finalist for Baylor University’s Robert Foster Cherry Award For Great Teaching, will present her public lecture at 3:30 p.m. in Kayser Auditorium of Hankamer Academic Center at 1621 S. 3rd St. For more information, visit the Cherry Award website.
Concert Choir and Bella Voce — Two of Baylor University’s major choral groups, Concert Choir and Bella Voce, will present “Songs from the Heart” at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall of the Glennis McCrary Music Building, located at 110 Baylor Ave. This concert is free and open to the public. World Cinema Series — Baylor’s department of modern languages and cultures will screen a German film entitled "Nosferatu: Eine Symphonie des Grauens" (Nosferatu: Symphony of Horror) at 6 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium of Draper Hall, at 1400 S. Halloween Organ Concert — Baylor University will present its 27th annual Halloween Organ Concert at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Concert Hall of the Glennis McCrary Music Building at 110 Baylor Ave. Baylor organ students will perform this concert with Isabelle Demers, the university’s Assistant Professor of Organ. This concert is free and open to the public. Those attending are invited to come in costume if they desire. More information is available here.

WEDNESDAY, Nov. 1

Dale P. Jones Business Ethics Forum — The business school will host the Dale P. Jones Business Ethics Forum from Nov. 1 to Nov. 10 in the Paul L. Foster Campus for Business and Innovation. The forum engages students, faculty, alumni and business leaders in discussions of major ethical issues facing the business world today. Guest speakers for the forum will include former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush, former U.S. Congressman Chet Edwards, and Dr. Linda A. Livingstone, President of Baylor University. Martin Museum of Art Presents Dia De Los Muertos — The Martin Museum of Art will offer its annual “Dia de los Muertos” (Day of the Dead) photograms event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the museum foyer and the Baylor Art Department Photography Lab of Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Building at 60 Baylor Ave. Participants will get to expose photography paper with Dia de los Muertos-themed images and watch as the paper is developed in the darkroom process with help from the art department’s photography professors and students. Revisiting Red October — As part of a series of events focusing on the centennial of the Bolshevik Revolution, Julie DeGraffenried, Ph.D., will present the 1956 Russian film, "The 41st" at 6 p.m. in Cox Lecture Hall of Armstrong Browning Library at 710 Speight Ave. The film is set during the Russian Revolution and follows the romance between a female sniper of the Red Army and an officer of the White Army.
