Fifth Annual Autumn Moon Festival Set for Sept. 27

September 17, 1997

The Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) at Baylor University will present the fifth annual Autumn Moon Festival, titled "A Day in Vietnam," from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
This historic event began as a celebration of the annual harvest and was designed to thank God and pray for a good year, said VSA member Duke Vu.
"I think the benefit from this is a chance for the student body to learn a little bit about another culture, to educate those interested and to remind us about our culture," Vu said.
The event begins with a six-course meal of authentic Vietnamese food. Performances will start at 7:30 p.m. with a special appearance by a family of four Vietnamese musicians. In addition, various VSA members will perform cultural dances, skits and songs. The program will conclude with a dragon dance and lantern lighting.
Tickets will be available for $12 in the Student Center from Sept. 22-26 between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
