June 24, 1997

The National Cheerleading Association (NCA) will sponsor three cheerleading camps for high school and junior high cheerleaders on June 26-29, July 17-20 and August 1-4 on the Baylor University campus.
The first session will be a Christian cheerleading camp. The second session will be a dance camp and the third camp will be the standard cheerleading camp.
The camps will focus on the development of personal skills, teamwork and technical and motivational aspects of cheerleading.
On the first evening of camp, the squads will compete for a bid to nationals. The winners will be announced on the final day of camp.
On the third evening of camp, All-American tryouts will be held. Participants must meet certain qualifications in order to tryout. The cheerleaders who achieve All-American status will qualify to travel to various bowls in Hawaii, Europe and to win a Celebrity Cruise.
On the final day of camp, the top five teams of the week will be announced.
The cost for camp is $189 for overnight campers, $169 for advisors, $108 for student commuters and $49 for commuter advisors. The participants will practice at the Ferrell Center.
