BAYLOR ALERT! Thank You

Baylor students, faculty and staff,

We want to thank you for your excellent response to the Baylor Alert system during this afternoon’s search for a shooting suspect following an incident off campus.

We commend you for your adherence to the instructions to seek secure shelter as law enforcement conducted their search. The “all clear” was given just after 3:30 p.m. when Waco and Baylor police departments determined there was no imminent threat to the campus.

We have received feedback and understand that during the incident some of you received messages that were out of order. In a crisis, communication systems may be overloaded. That is why we use multiple communication channels – text, email, social media and the website. We continue to evaluate our systems and make improvements as needed.

All in all, the Baylor Alert system worked well today. Much of that success is because of you. Thank you again.
