World-Wide Radio Minister/ Effective Preacher to Visit April 9

WACO, Texas - Dr. Haddon Robinson, Distinguished Professor of Preaching at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, will speak at Baylor University on Wednesday, April 9, for the Effective Preachers program.
Robinson will speak to Baylor students at 10 a.m. Wednesday during Chapel-Forum and at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Jones Concert Hall. The public may attend the 7 p.m. presentation.
Robinson teaches on a radio program titled Radio Bible Class that airs 1,000 times daily on 600 stations around the world. He has written six books, including Biblical Preaching that serves as a text book on preaching at 120 seminaries and Bible colleges throughout the world.
Robinson has held editorial positions with Theological Annual, Preaching, Christianity Today as well as a host of other publications. Other positions Robinson has held include president of the Denver Conservative Baptist Seminary, director of Youth For Christ and professor of homiletics at Dallas Theological Seminary.
In February 1996, Baylor named 12 individuals as the most effective preachers in the English-speaking world, according to a worldwide survey.
Many of the 12 preachers plan to visit Baylor to deliver sermons during the 1996-97 academic year and to receive the newly created "Baylor Great Preachers" award. Included in the great preachers list are the Rev. Billy Graham and Dr. Charles Swindoll.
