Update from Baylor University on Construction Accident

WACO, Texas (June 13, 2015) – Baylor Police have released the name of the worker who died yesterday in a tragic accident at the construction site of the business school building on the Baylor campus.

Police identified the worker as Jeffrey Thaemert, 51, of Waco. He was an independent electrician who was working for Rosendin Electric of Dallas.

Our thoughts and deepest prayers remain with the family and friends of Mr. Thaemert at this very difficult time.

Officials continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.

Statement from Baylor University on Construction Accident - June 12, 2015

WACO, Texas (June 12, 2015) – A tragic accident at 11:45 a.m. today (June 12) at the construction site of the new business school building on the Baylor University campus has resulted in the death of a worker.

This is a terrible tragedy that saddens every member of the Baylor community. Our thoughts and prayers go immediately to the family and friends of the worker who lost his life in the accident. The name of the deceased is being withheld until the family has been notified. There were no other injuries.

Officials are on site, and Baylor representatives are actively supporting the efforts to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
