Baylor University Today Issued the Following Statement Regarding the Baylor Health Care System

WACO, Texas -- Robert B. Sloan Jr., president of Baylor University, and Boone Powell Jr., president of Baylor Health Care System, have today jointly issued the following statement:
"We are pleased to announce the formation of a new study committee made up of members of both the Baylor University Board of Regents and the Baylor Health Care System Board of Trustees for the purpose of studying the on-going relationship between our two institutions and how we can best perpetuate and enhance the mission of the Health Care System in today's changing market place.
"We are both pleased to announce that the new joint study committee has met once already and very positive progress has been made in their first meeting. The new committee plans to continue meeting on a regular basis and will make recommendations to each board as their work proceeds."
