WACO, Texas (December 9, 2014) – Do you believe in the Ghost of Christmas Past?
Well, at the Gov. Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village the spirit is alive and well — the holiday spirit, that is! Come celebrate the season as the Mayborn Museum Complex transforms the old-time village into an 1890s Christmas wonderland from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
Visitors of all ages will enjoy special events and activities such as an apple cider station, Christmas crafts, storytelling, Christmas carols and a holiday-inspired photo opportunity.
For young visitors, seasonally themed puppet shows also will be offered from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m also in the village.
“Last year’s event was immensely popular, and we hope the community continues to enjoy this unique celebration of the holiday season,” said Rebecca Tucker Nall, assistant director of communication at the Mayborn Museum.
Regular admission, which includes all activities and the special exhibit, “All Aboard the Mayborn Express,” an extensive train display, is $6 for adults, $5 for senior citizens and $4 for children. The entire event and all activities are free to museum members and Baylor students. This courtesy is also extended to other college and university students with a valid student identification card.
The Mayborn Museum is regularly open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The museum and village are located at 1300 S. University Parks Drive.
