WACO, Texas (Dec. 2, 2014) – Baylor University will celebrate the Christmas season with its annual festivities, including Christmas on 5th Street and the Christmas at Baylor concerts, beginning Thursday, Dec. 4.
Christmas on 5th Street aims to bring to life a quote from W.T. Ellis, who once said, "It is Christmas in the heart that puts Christmas in the air.” The event, which will begin at 6 p.m. on the Baylor campus, will include a tree lighting, a Christmas marketplace, various musical performances, hot cocoa and cookies.
Other activities for the family will include horse-drawn carriage rides, a petting zoo and live nativity scene, pictures with Santa and stations for writing letters to Santa. To see a full schedule of performances and events, visit the Christmas on 5th web page.
The Baylor School of Music will also present its annual Christmas at Baylor concerts at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 4 and 5 in Jones Concert Hall.
The combined choirs of Baylor University and the Baylor Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Alan Raines, Ph.D., director of choral activities, and will perform classic Christmas music.
