Senior Texas A&M Official to Speak at Baylor Nov. 13

Dr. Stanton C. Calvert, Chief of Legislative Affairs for the Texas A&M University System, will speak at the Baylor University Leadership Luncheon scheduled from noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the VIP Room of the Ferrell Special Events Center.
Calvert will speak on higher education issues and the next legislative session.
As Chief of Legislative Affairs for Texas A&M, Calvert is responsible for development and implementation of the legislative and appropriations program of the Texas A&M University System. Its seven universities and nine state agencies enroll more than 76,000 students, employ more than 19,000 full-time faculty and staff, and budget more than $1.2 billion annually.
Calvert earned his bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian University and his master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his current position, he served as executive director for the Texas Association of Community Colleges and as general manager for LandBanc Interests in Austin.
The luncheon, which is open to the public, is sponsored by Baylor's Department of Educational Administration and the Fred and Edith Hale Center for Educational Leaders.
