WACO, Texas (Nov. 4, 2013) -- "The Day Kennedy Died," a Smithsonian Networks documentary, will be shown at Baylor University at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, as part of campus events commemorating the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination.
The documentary, narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey, is a minute-by-minute account of the events of Nov. 22, 1963, the day Kennedy died. The showing is free and open to the public.
The film, with rarely seen footage and rarely heard testimonies, will be introduced by Charles Poe, a 1989 Baylor journalism graduate and vice president of production at Smithsonian Networks. After the film, he will conduct a question-and-answer session with the audience.
Among those featured in the film are a man who was wounded from the ricochet of a bullet intended for Kennedy and a Dallas County Sheriff's deputy who found the rifle used by Lee Harvey Oswald to assassinate Kennedy.
The showing will be in Kayser Auditorium of the Hankamer School of Business, 1428 S. Fifth St.
Event sponsor is Baylor's department of journalism, public relations and new media in Baylor's College of Arts & Sciences.
