Baylor Law No. 1 in Texas Bar Exam Results

WACO, Texas (Nov. 1, 2013) - Baylor Law School once again is No. 1 in the state's bar exam passage rate.

Results of the July Texas Bar exam released Oct. 31 show Baylor Law School with a 97.52 percent pass rate. At No. 2 is the University of Texas at Austin with a pass rate of 95.52 percent. The state's overall passage rate among those who took the bar exam for the first time was 86.05 percent.

Texas has nine law schools, and since 2001 Baylor Law has been No. 1 on 18 of 25 bar exams given.

1. Baylor University Law School- 97.52 percent (118 of 121)
2. University of Texas School of Law - 95.52 percent (256 of 268)
3. SMU School of Law- 91.59 percent (196 of 214)
4. South Texas College of Law - 89.35 percent (235 of 263)
5. University of Houston Center of Law- 88.02 percent (191 of 217)
6. Texas Tech University School of Law - 85.94 percent (165 of 192)
7. Texas A&M University School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan) - 85.83 percent (109 of 127)
8. St. Mary's University School of Law - 82.82 percent (188 of 227)
9. Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law - 79.23 percent (103 of 130)
