Department of Modern Foreign Languages Welcomes Consul General

WACO, Texas (Sept. 27, 2013) - The division of Asian and African languages in the department of modern foreign languages will sponsor a presentation by Consul General Suk-bum Park at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in Draper Room 139.
Park, from the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Houston, will speak about Korean and American relations and the vision of both countries for the future.
Kim Uber, a lecturer in Korean at Baylor, said Park was asked to visit because he can bring international insight to guests.
"We invited him to learn more about Korean culture and especially relations between South Korea and the United States," Uber said. "We also want to hear his views regarding the future relationship between the two Koreas."
The department hopes those who attend will have a better understanding of Korean culture, people and the current situation in East Asia when they leave.
The talk is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be served.
