More Than 100 to Perform in Alumni Band Oct. 19

October 15, 1996

Dr. Carl C. Bradley, vice president of student life at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Belton, has been named honorary director of the Baylor University Golden Wave Alumni Band for the 11th annual Alumni Band Night Saturday, Oct. 19. The band will perform during half-time of the Baylor-Oklahoma football game at Floyd Casey Stadium. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
Alumni Band Night features anyone who ever played an instrument in the Golden Wave Band or any former baton twirlers. More than 100 former Baylor band members are expected to perform at halftime this year, which will focus on a jazz theme.
Bradley holds bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from East Texas Baptist University and has worked as a music teacher, administrator of a local school and executive at the college level.
Bradley was the dean of student judicial affairs at Baylor from 1984-94 when he became vice president at Mary Hardin-Baylor. In addition to his career in educational administration, Bradley has been a church organist for more than 38 years.
The honorary alumni band director is chosen each year by the dean of the Baylor School of Music and the director of the Golden Wave Band. The President of the Alumni Band this year is Jonathan Edward Smith, a 1990 Baylor graduate from Mesquite.
