WACO, Texas (July 5, 2013) - Baylor Student Activities and Campus Recreation won't let you succumb to boredom this summer. The staff has been busy hosting events for students who are still on campus and will continue to do so throughout July.

Student Activities will host a free screening of "Back to the Future" at 6 p.m. July 5 in the Student Union Building, 1311 S. Fifth St. Free popcorn, drinks and cupcakes, courtesy of What About Cupcakes, will be offered as well.

For a bit less sitting and a bit more doing, bring your Baylor ID card at 4 p.m. July 11 to Student Activities' cookout at the Baylor Marina, at 1512 S. University Parks Drive. Come beat the heat and boredom with free food and activities on the Brazos River.

If you're looking for something more interactive, Campus Recreation will host a mini basketball intramural tournament at the Student Life Center at 209 Speight Ave, at 4 p.m. July 16. The same day, there will be a preview of Student Activities' upcoming Summer Concert Cookout. During Dr Pepper Hour in the SUB den from 2 to 3 p.m., artists Trannie Stevens, Rick Grayson and Dreamboat will perform some of their works.

The Summer Concert Cookout will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. July 25 at 1360 S. Fifth St. on Fountain Mall and will include music, food and fun. Before the concert, over at the SLC, Campus Recreation will be hosting a second mini volleyball tournament at 4 p.m.

To wrap up the month, Campus Recreation will have its own cookout at the Baylor Marina, 1512 S. University Parks Drive, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. July 30. Bring your Baylor ID card and your appetite, as staff will be serving free hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, chips, watermelon and cookies. Students will be able to participate in activities such as sand volleyball, kayaking and canoeing, as well as be eligible for door prizes.
