Basketball Preseason Tourney Set for Ferrell Center

The Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce will host 16 high school basketball teams for a pre-season tournament Oct. 5-6 in Baylor University's Ferrell Center. The participating all-boys teams will be mostly 5-A ranked. Some 4-A ranked teams will participate.
Eight teams will tip-off at noon on Saturday including: Waco High, Bryan High, Killeen Ellison, Temple High, McKinney High, Waco University High, Midway High and Austin Anderson. Another eight teams will tip-off at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday including: Dallas Kimball, Houston Smiley, Amarillo Randall, West Orange Stark, Houston Milby, John Tyler High and Katy High.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday and at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. Games will begin on Saturday at noon, 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Games will begin on Sunday at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. The championship game will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Two games will be held in the Ferrell center and two will be in the Russell gymnasium at all game times. Each team is guaranteed to play four games.
The games are free and open to the public.
