Spring Festival Featuring 1890s-style Activities and Demonstrations Will Be Held Saturday, April 20, at Historic Village at Baylor's Mayborn Museum Complex

WACO, Texas (April 19, 2013) -- A festival marking the arrival of spring, with a step back in time to the 1890s, will be held Saturday, April 20, in the Governor Bill and Vara Daniel Historic Village at Baylor University's Mayborn Museum Complex.

Visitors can watch blacksmithing demonstrations, participate in a seed-planting activity, see chicks and ducklings, as well as enjoy outdoor puppet shows and live music.

Festival hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the museum, 1300 S. University Parks Drive in Waco.

A picnic lunch will be available for purchase.

Regular museum admission -- which includes the festival as well as the chance to visit the museum -- is $6 for adults, $4 for children (18 months to 12 years) and $5 for seniors (age 65 and older). For individuals who also wish to attend a current exhibit -- Robots + Us ¬ full price that includes all events - festival, regular museum admission and admission to the robots exhibit - is $10 for adults, $5 for children and $9 for adults.

In case of rain, the festival will be postponed to April 27.

Museum activities and events are free to all museum members and Baylor University students.

Regular museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. The Robots + Us exhibit continues through April 28.
