WACO, Texas (March 26, 2013)--The department of finance in Baylor's Hankamer School of Business welcomes Stephen G. Moyer, author of "Distressed Debt Analysis," considered to be primary reference for distressed debt investors.

Moyer's lecture, "Dynamics of the Distressed Debt Investing Process" will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28 in the Graduate Conference Room 250 of Baylor's Hankamer School of Business, 1428 S. Fifth St.
"Students will learn about a form of investing that is largely invisible to the average investor," said John Martin, Ph.D., professor of finance, insurance and real estate in Baylor's Hankamer School of Business.
"Heretofore there has been little or no opportunity to learn about distress debt investing in university investments classes which focus on equity investing. "
Moyer is founder of Distressed Alpha, Inc. His prior work experience includes serving as senior vice president, portfolio manager and analyst in the distressed debt group in the Newport Beach office of PIMCO which has over $2 trillion in assets under management. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2009, he was a director with Tennenbaum Capital Partners.
He has 23 years of investment experience and holds a JD from Stanford University School of Law, a master's from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and received an undergraduate degree from Grinnell College.
Moyer's lecture is free and open to the public and will be followed with a panel discussion on "The Role of Private Equity in the Restructuring of Distressed Firms." This event is closed to the public but will be video taped, transcribed and published at a later date in "The Journal of Applied Corporate Finance."
