Ministry Guidance Reports Record Number of Students

WACO, Texas - A record 1,624 Baylor University students reported interest in ministry as a career, according to reports by the university's Ministry Guidance program.
The increase is nearly 100 more than the previous record of 1,525 set in the fall of 1992. The university also experienced a record total enrollment of 12,391 students for the 1996 fall semester.
The students indicated interest in five areas, including pastoral ministry, education, music, missions and other ministries.
Pastoral ministry, which includes preaching and counseling, was selected by 171 students. A total of 211 students selected education ministries which includes youth, college and recreation.
Approximately 80 students selected music and 126 selected missions. Other ministries, which includes undecided ministry, was selected by 1,036 students.
