BU Students to Participate in National Prayer Day Sept. 18

September 16, 1996

Baylor University students will participate with other college and secondary school students across the country in "See You At The Pole" at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Baylor flag pole adjacent to Pat Neff Hall.
"See You At The Pole" is a national day in which students meet at their school flag poles to pray for spiritual awakening in the United States. Prayers are offered for political leaders of the country as well as a resurgence of Christian faith in society.
A city-wide "See You At The Pole" rally will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17, at the Center, located at 1115 Columbus Ave., to encourage Waco-area students and to promote the prayer event. The Baylor prayer meeting, like all of the groups meeting, will be led by students said Baylor Baptist Student Ministries Director Clif Mouser. He said the event is for all students who would like to participate.
"Students will have the opportunity to gather and pray for student concerns," Mouser said. "This is the one time in the year awareness is raised for the need for corporate prayer."
