Recording Artist Robbie Seay Performs For Baylor Association of Church Musicians Series

WACO, Texas (Nov. 12, 2012)--Houston's Ecclesia Church is a sanctuary to the homeless and drug addicts, a haven to suburb dwellers and high-profile attorneys, and a home to Robbie Seay and his band. Poetic and vulnerable lyrics incorporated into songs of praise and worship have set Robbie Seay Band apart from the rest.
Seay will perform as a part of the Fall 2012 Baylor Association of Church Musicians Series at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, in Recital Hall II, Waco Hall, 624 Speight Ave.
"We are looking forward to having Robbie Seay back at Baylor," said Randall Bradley, D.M.A., Ben H. Williams Professor of Music in the Baylor School of Music.
"As a songwriter and recording artist, he will share his story with our students, and I am sure they will connect deeply with his passion for the music of the church."
Robbie Seay is worship leader at Ecclesia, an emerging congregation in Houston where his brother, Chris Seay, is the teaching pastor, Bradley said.
"Students will have a wonderful opportunity to engage with an important worship leader, singer, and leader in the emerging church."
Robbie Seay Band has developed a reputation for its honest approach to worship music, grounded in community and in the life journeys of each of its members, according the band's website. In addition to Robbie, who serves as the group's voice and principal songwriter, the band consists of Ryan Owens on bass, Matthew "Frodo" Kidd on guitar and David Keil on drums.
Top hits include "Song of Hope (Heaven Come Down)" and "Beautiful, Scandalous Night" from the album "Give Yourself Away," released in 2007.
"I hope my music and life somehow may serve to encourage other believers to be proactive in their faith," Seay says on his website.
"It is only as we bless others and offer grace that faith goes beyond words, and truly comes alive."
