Baylor Theatre Presents Classical Greek Tragedy "Hecuba"

WACO, Texas (Nov. 9, 2012) - The department of theatre arts at Baylor University will present Hecuba Nov. 13-18 in the Mabee Theatre of the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center, 60 Baylor Ave. Performances through Saturday will begin at 7:30 p.m., with matinees offered at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The story is set in Troy following the Trojan War, as Hecuba, the queen of the ruined city, mourns the death of her daughter and the murder of her youngest son. She is corrupted by her desire for vindication and takes drastic measures to avenge the deaths of her children. She succeeds in inflicting pain on her enemies, but it comes at the cost of sacrificing her own humanity, as well.
The event is open to the public and recommended for mature audiences. Tickets are $18 and can be purchased by clicking here, or by visiting the theater box office in the Hooper-Schaefer Fine Arts Center. For more information, call 254-710-1865.
