Meyer Family Gives $100,000 to Baylor for Scholarship

WACO, Texas - A $100,000 endowed scholarship has been given to the Baylor University Hankamer School of Business Accounting Department by Paul J. and Jane Meyer of Waco.
The Dr. Delton L. Chesser Passport To Success (PTS) Accounting Scholarship was given in honor of Chesser who was recently recognized as the 1996 Distinguished Professor of the Hankamer School of Business. Chesser, the Roderick L. Holmes Professor of Accountancy, is a 14-year member of the Baylor faculty. A member of the 1996 Circle of Achievement of Mortar Board, Chesser has consistently received high ratings from students on his teaching.
The scholarship will be given to economically disadvantaged students who are studying accounting.
Paul J. Meyer, a Central Texas civic leader, is the founder of Success Motivation Institute (SMI). He also founded the PTS Foundation in 1988.
PTS, which is a non-profit civic foundation, promotes the theme that any significant progress in solving the basic problems of society must originate in the private sector. In 1996, PTS became affiliated with the Waco Foundation.
