WACO, Texas - Baylor University's George W. Truett Theological Seminary will hold its third annual convocation at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, in the chapel at First Baptist Church of Waco, 500 Webster.

Dr. Brad Creed, dean of the seminary, will present his first address as dean. Creed was named dean in January, succeeding Dr. Robert B. Sloan Jr., who now serves as president of Baylor.

The seminary, incorporated in 1991, began its first classes in August 1994. Enrollment is nearing 150 students, and the seminary anticipates holding its first commencement ceremonies in May 1997, the centennial of George W. Truett's graduation from Baylor University.
