Daniel Hare Named Baylor Law's New Director of Career Development

Follow us on Twitter: @BaylorUMedia Contact: Lori Fogleman, (254) 710-6275 WACO, Texas (Aug. 24, 2012) - Daniel Hare, a 2009 alumnus of Baylor Law School, has been named the law school's director of career development-employment relations in the Office of Career Development. As director of career development, Hare will work with Angela Cruseturner, assistant dean of career development, to recruit, develop and maintain relationships with legal employers. Currently, Hare serves as director of athletics at Western Oregon University. He will begin his position at the law school in September. "I want to thank Deans Brad Toben and Leah Jackson and Assistant Dean Angela Cruseturner for the opportunity to return to Baylor Law School as the director of career development-employment relations," Hare said. "I am very proud of my Baylor law degree and grateful for the many things I learned here as a student. Now I am excited to serve the university's mission by helping its students achieve their career goals and dreams. "Baylor has a special place in my heart and in the heart of my wife, Adrienne. We met here (while I worked in the Bear Foundation), married here and have degrees from here. And now maybe one day our daughter, Brooklyn, will attend Baylor. We couldn't be more excited about the opportunity, and look forward to rejoining the Baylor family," he said. In 2010, Hare became athletic director of Western Oregon, where he oversees 13 NCAA Division II sports. Prior to his tenure at Western Oregon, he served as director of athletic compliance at the University of Central Oklahoma. There, Hare coordinated rules education and monitoring for a department with 14 sports, and was a member of the athletics senior staff. While attending Baylor Law, Hare spent the summer of 2007 interning at CBS College Sports in New York City. He drafted and reviewed contracts for online services and television sublicenses and also researched and analyzed intellectual property and contract issues. Before enrolling in law school, Hare served as athletic development officer at Baylor. He received his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma in 2000, and his master's in business administration with an emphasis in sports administration from OU in 2003. Hare is married to the former Adrienne Davis of Waco. The couple has one child, Brooklyn Elizabeth.
