Baylor to Host Texas Baptist Church Music Conference

Baylor University will host the 1996 Texas Baptist Church Music Conference July 29-31. The theme for this year's conference is "Charting Your Course for Ministry."
Classes dealing with leading preschool/children, youth choirs, adult choirs and bell choirs will be provided at various campus locations. In addition, classes on keyboard skills and piano instruction will also be available. New to the conference this year are product demonstration classes for keyboards, computers and teaching products.
Fellowship meetings, including an Associational Music Director's Breakfast, Retired Ministers' Brunch, and Minister of Music Wives' Dinner, will be held during the conference.
Evening sessions will feature concerts by Mary McDonald, a composer and keyboard artist; Mobberly Baptist Church, Longview, Handbell Choir; "One Accord," a contemporary ladies quartet; and Linda Poston-Smith, a soprano soloist. Brad Creed, dean of Baylor's George W. Truett Theological Seminary, will offer a presentation on understanding generational conflict in worship.
