Dates Set for Sonja Hogg 1996 Lady Bear Basketball School

WACO, Texas-Baylor University will host the Sonja Hogg Lady Bear Basketball School June 2-6, June 9-13, June 30-July 4, and Aug. 4-7 (Team School).
The school will give students entering grades 6-12 the opportunity to gain experience from several of the best high school and college coaches from throughout Texas and the United States.
Some of the planned activities are daily 3-on-3 tourneys, position play, free-throw contests, league play and fundamental skills instruction.
There will be nightly fellowship times that will be led by the Lady Bears with skits, songs and basketball films.
On the final day of camp, league standing games will be played. Awards will be given at the closing ceremonies.
The school also will discuss scholastic achievement, sports nutrition, weight training, off- season conditioning, drug use and abuse, and injury prevention and treatment.
Cost of the school is $275 per participant, which includes instruction, room and board, t-shirt, basketball, and certificate. The commuter fee is $200.
Meals will be served from the Baylor dining halls. Commuters will be provided lunch and dinner.
A new feature this year is a team school for varsity and junior varsity squads. The cost of the school is $200 per person with a required $100 deposit. The commuter fee is $125. High school coaches, in accordance with UIL rules, can coach their own team, with the exception of Texas coaches. Housing will be furnished for all head coaches bringing their teams.
