Baylor Theatre Will Present Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream"

Waco, Texas (April 17, 2012) -- Baylor University Theatre will end its 2011 to 2012 season with William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 23, through Saturday, April 28, with matinees at 2 p.m. on April 28 and Sunday, April 29, in Mabee Theatre of the Hooper-Shaefer Fine Arts Center on the Baylor campus.

Directed by Steven Pounders, associate professor of theatre arts at Baylor, the famous comedy is a tale of fantasy and fancy, love and lunacy, power and protection, and confusion and camaraderie, in the midst of the events surrounding the marriage of the duke of Athens, Theseus, to the queen of the Amazons, Hippolyta.

The production will feature Jimi Wallace, senior theatre performance major, as Theseus, and Rachel Peterson, junior theatre performance major, as Hippolyta. The cast also includes: Joshua Gonzales, senior theatre performance major, as Puck; Kaycee Reininger, junior theatre performance major, as Hermia; and Chris Ramirez, junior theatre performance major, as Lysander.
