Pro Golfers, Gospels Featured in Baylor Lecturer's Books

May 1, 1996

Robert Darden, lecturer in English at Baylor University, has recently published two books, one featuring professional golfers and the other an account of the Gospels.
The "Way of an Eagle," published by Thomas Nelson Publishers, features the testimonies of 40 top professional golfers including Paul Azinger, Bobby Clampett and Bernhard Langer. The golfers also share one of their greatest experiences in golf and a helpful tips for golfers.
Darden traveled with the Professional Golfers Association tour earlier this year during which he interviewed the golfers.
The other book, "I, Jesus," will be released in June by Summit Publishing Group and is quite unusual, according to Darden. Summit, a secular publisher, requested the book, which is a combination of the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John written from the perspective of Jesus Christ.
Darden has been a member of the Baylor faculty since 1987 and is the author of 19 books, including "Mad Man in Waco," about David Koresh and the Branch Davidians. He also serves as Editor of "The Door," a national satirical Christian magazine.
Barnes and Nobles book store of Waco will have a book signing for "The Way of an Eagle" from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, May 25.
