Memorial Services Set for Baylor Freshman

Memorial services have been set for Will Patterson, a Baylor University freshman from San Antonio, who passed away Feb. 9. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, at Woodland Baptist Church, 15315 Huebner Rd., in San Antonio, with visitation preceding the service at 1 p.m.

As we continue to grieve and walk beside Will's friends and loved ones, condolences to the family may be sent to: The Office of Spiritual Life, Baylor University, One Bear Place #97013, Waco, TX 76798-7013.

Thank you for keeping the Patterson family in your prayers and caring for those in our community who are struggling with this tragic loss.

Baylor University released the following statement on Friday, Feb. 10, 2011:

Late this afternoon, the McLennan County Sheriff's Office and the Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed the loss of Baylor student William Patterson in yesterday's tragedy. We are deeply saddened to receive this news about Will, who was a freshman film and digital media major from San Antonio. We have expressed our deepest condolences to Will's family and will continue to extend to them every measure of care that we can during this very difficult time. We are also providing support services for students on our campus who are grieving the loss of their friend and classmate.

The McLennan County Sheriff's Office is continuing their investigation and we remain in contact with them, assisting them in any way possible.

The thoughts and prayers of all of us in the Baylor family are with the Pattersons, and with Will's friends here on our campus and in his hometown of San Antonio, as they mourn this devastating loss.
