School-Age Child Care Conference Set for Feb. 9-10

WACO, Texas - Baylor University's Center for Christian Education will host the annual School-Age Child Care conference from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 9-10 in the Barfield Drawing Room of the Bill Daniel Student Center.
Sponsored by the Texas Association for School-Age Care (TASAC), the conference features a number of sessions designed to help child-care providers build better programs for the future.
Sessions range from "Computers for School Age" from 1:30-3 p.m. and "Starting a TASAC Affiliate in Your City" from 3:15-5 p.m. Friday, Feb.3, to "Multigenerational Programming" from 8:30-10 a.m. and "Are You Really Creative" from 10:30 a.m.-noon Saturday, Feb. 10.
The keynote address from noon-1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, will feature Dr. Johathan Lindsey, director of donor information and recognition and foundation relations for Baylor, who will focus on strategic planning and why it is important to plan now for the future. Current president of the National Society of Fund-Raising Executives, Lindsey has made numerous presentations on fund-raising and strategic planning.
The keynote address from noon-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, features Jim Therrell, executive director of the Professional Play Leaders Association, who will provide an inspiring look into the challenges facing child care professionals: "Are You As Good As Nintendo?"
Conference fees for TASAC members are $30 for one day and $60 for both days. Fees for non-members are $40 for one day and $80 for both days.
