Residence Hall Association Sponsors Blood Drive Jan. 22-24

January 11, 1996

The Residence Hall Association at Baylor University will sponsor a blood drive to benefit the American Red Cross from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday, Jan. 22 through Wednesday, Jan. 24, in a blood mobile in front of the Bill Daniel Student Center and in the drawing room of Alexander Residence Hall.
This is the first year RHA has hosted the event and students and faculty are encouraged to donate blood.
"We wanted to find a way to serve the community of Baylor as a whole and to draw in interaction with the Waco community," said Shelly Boyle, service chair for RHA.
Students are encouraged to participate in the American Red Cross' "blood buddy" program. According to Boyle, students who have donated blood before and bring a first time donor will receive a free T-shirt and the new donor will receive a lapel.
Students interested in the "blood buddy" program must sign a contract from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., during the week of Jan. 15 in the BDSC and at all dining halls.
