Baylor Film and Digital Media Will Present Texas Independent Film Network Film Series

Baylor University Film and Digital Media will host the Texas Independent Film Network Spring 2011 Film Series from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, in Room 101 of Castellaw Communications Center on the Baylor campus.

The event, which is free and open to the public, will include six rare short films by legendary Texan filmmakers in their first forays behind the camera The theme will be "Texas Legends Before They Were Legends (1965-1992)."

The films will include: "Bottle Rocket" (Wes Anderson, 1992), "Styx" (Jan Krawitz, 1976), "Woodshock" (Richard Linklater, 1985), "Speed of Light" (Brian Hansen, 1981), "The Heisters" (Tobe Hooper, 1965) and "Bedhead" (Robert Rodriguez, 1991).

The film series will continue at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 17, in Room 101 of Castellaw Communications Center, with Tobe Hooper's "Eggshells" (1969), and conclude at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 14, with Eagle Pennell's "The Whole Shootin' Match" (1978).
