Baylor University Center for Jewish Studies will host Rabbi Dana Evan Kaplan for a lecture at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, in Tidwell Bible Building, Room 307.

Kaplan will speak on "Historical Reflections on American Judaism, 1945 to the Present."

Kaplan is editor of "The Cambridge Companion to American History" and author of "Contemporary American Judaism: Transformation and Renewal."

Kaplan's lecture is a part of a new venture between the Center for Jewish Studies and the department of history intended to expand the audience of Jewish studies at Baylor. The center will host a variety of scholars to address historical and contemporary issues in Jewish life.

The center will also be co-sponsoring a series of events regarding the understanding of diversity in faith and ethnic background. These events will ask the audience to reflect on the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and Islamophobia and focus on diminishing prejudices.

Tidwell Bible Building is located at 1600 Speight Ave.
