Baylor University's Mayborn Museum Complex will host Medieval Merriment Wednesdays from June 16 through Aug. 18. Activities will be from 1:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.

Medieval Merriment is a series of activities related to the Museum's 2010 summer traveling exhibit, LEGO® Castle Adventure. The exhibit features age-appropriate areas for children. The Apprentice Builders area for toddlers features large foam LEGO® bricks; the Journeymen Builders area for ages 3-6 features DUPLO® blocks; and the Master Builders area for ages 7 and older features regular LEGO® bricks.

"Every summer we do a special activity surrounding a particular exhibit we have," said Mark E. Smith, assistant director of promotion and events. "The activities are open to everyone, but most will involve things children enjoy."

The schedule of activities for this week is:

Stonehenj Weapons Display (in Kids Corner)
Catapults (in Upper Cafe Rotunda)
Target Practicing (in Baylor Hallway)
Spear Throwing (in Chariot Hallway)
Bubble Swords (outside by bus entrance)
Invading Castles (in Upper Mezzanine Cafe area)

Admission for visitors 18 months and older is $5 on Medieval Merriment Wednesdays only. This includes access to all activities and exhibits. The regular admission price for exhibits is $10 for adults, $9 for senior citizens and $5 for children. Mayborn Museum members and Baylor students receive free admission.

The Mayborn Museum Complex is located at 1300 S. University Parks in Waco on the Baylor campus. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Sundays.
