Baylor Ranks High in Computerworld Survey

WACO, Texas-Baylor University was recently ranked favorably in the second annual COMPUTERWORLD survey for the 100 best places to work in the field of information systems.
The magazine listed Baylor as 57th among the 850 organizations nominated. The figure includes corporations, government agencies, educational institutions, and the top 250 Fortune 500 industrial and service firms. In addition, of the eight educational institutions listed in the survey, Baylor ranked second.
Categories used to rank the top 100 companies included salary levels, benefits, organizational communications, training, staff growth and diversity, and the level of advanced technologies used. Baylor excelled in the area of gender diversity, with 41 to 60 percent of information system employees being women.
According to Dr. Don Hardcastle, director of computing and information systems, "We (Baylor University) are being compared with every kind of organization, not just to other educational institutions.
"We are obviously doing the right things, so we will keep doing them."
