Acclaimed Christian Artists To Perform At 'Island Party'

The Iota chapter of Brothers Under Christ (BYX) will welcome five renowned Christian artists to the Baylor University campus for the fifth annual "Island Party," from 5 p.m. until midnight Friday, April 16, on Fountain Mall. All members of the Baylor and Waco communities are invited to attend the free event.
Jeremy Camp will headline the evening. Camp was recently nominated for four Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, including "Male Vocalist of the Year" and "New Artist of the Year." Other artists include By The Tree, April Geesbreght, Ethan Durelle and Bright Size Life.
According to the BYX Island Party web site, the purpose of the all university event is "to minister to the Baylor University campus by providing an energetic, entertaining and uplifting event that seeks to promote fellowship, unity and revival among the Baylor community."
Island Party will also feature sand volleyball and various games to entertain the crowd between acts. Dinner and refreshments will be provided for anyone who purchases an Island Party t-shirt, which will be sold during the event for $10.
BYX has sold more than 700 t-shirts and held other fundraisers to make the event free for all who attend. The Island Party is presented in partnership with The Place 2BU, with significant contributions made by the Student Life Fund.
"It's our hope that Island Party will provide the community with an opportunity to relax and fellowship together while enjoying some great bands and great activities," said Jason Raddin, Island Party public relations chair. "Island Party is really our gift and our ministry back to the Baylor and Waco communities."
Brothers Under Christ was started in 1985 at the University of Texas. The Baylor chapter was founded in 1999 for the purpose of establishing brotherhood and unity among college men based on the common bond of Jesus Christ.
