Baylor's Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching at Truett Seminary to Present Winter Pastors' School

Baylor University's George W. Truett Theological Seminary and the The Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching will host ministers and seminarians from around the country for the Winter Pastors' School on Feb. 11-13 on the Baylor campus.
This year's conference will feature sessions on preaching, worship and pastoral ministry, led by this year's guest speaker, Dr. Walter Brueggemann, Professor Emeritus at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga., along with worship leader Kyle Matthews.
Brueggemann will be speaking on the theme, "Prophetic Preaching."
The Winter Pastors' School will begin at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 11, with Dr. Brueggemann leading Session 1 in the Paul W. Powell Chapel at Truett Seminary.
There will be two sessions Friday, one from 9 -11:30 followed by lunch and one from 1:30-3:30. In addition to the speakers listed, Dr. Todd Still from Truett will present a Bible Study on James in each session.
Friday's schedule includes a banquet at 6 p.m. in the Paul and Katy Piper Great Hall, followed by another session with Brueggemann and a drama with Al Staggs at 8:30 p.m.
On Saturday, the conference will feature the final session with Brueggemann at 9 a.m. in the Powell Chapel.
The Winter Pastors' School is an annual event featuring nationally and internationally recognized professors and/or preachers and a variety of sessions focused on preaching, worship and pastoral ministry.
The Kyle Lake Center for Effective Preaching at Baylor's Truett Seminary seeks to offer both ministers and seminarians the opportunity to learn from and fellowship with pre-eminent preachers and pastors from all over the world. The Lake Center serves the seminary's mission of preparing students for effective ministry and providing continuing education for those already in ministry.
