Baylor University's Student Government is asking the Baylor and Waco community to clip and collect Box Tops for Education to benefit J.H. Hines Elementary School in Waco.

Box Tops can be found on boxes of General Mills cereals, Ziploc Bags, Betty Crocker cake mixes, Kleenex boxes and many more. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents and Student Government's goal is to collect 10,000 Box Tops for a total of $1,000.

Proceeds raised will go towards new uniforms for students attending J.H. Hines. Currently, Student Government and J.H. Hines have collected 2,000 Box Tops.

"By college students joining our efforts we can really make a difference," said Emily Saultz, external vice president of Baylor's Student Government. "Each Box Top is one small piece to encourage Baylor students to be more involved in volunteering with the Waco community."

Student Government will collect the Box Tops until Tuesday, Feb. 16. Several student organizations have joined to support Student Government, including Alpha Lambda Delta, NAACP, American Medical Student Association (AMSA) and Leadership Living-Learning Center.

"We believe that there are great things going on with education in Waco and that Baylor students have a unique opportunity to get involved," Saultz said.

Members of the Baylor and Waco community can drop of their Box Tops in the Robinson Tower lobby or in the Student Government office located in the Bill Daniel Student Center (SUB).

Box Tops also can be sent to the Baylor Student Government office at One Bear Place #85555, Waco, Texas 76798.
