Baylor University's gospel choir, Heavenly Voices, will host its 15th annual Gospel Fest Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14, on Baylor's campus. Themed "Love, the Master Key," the festival will feature gospel recording artist Carolyn Traylor and college and youth gospel choirs from across Texas.
Voices of Praise from the University of North Texas will be featured as the guest choir, and a youth choir made up of local Waco students will also be showcased.
The choirs will participate in seminars from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, and Traylor will conduct mass rehearsals Saturday afternoon.
The event will close Saturday evening with a concert open to the public at 7 p.m., featuring performances by Traylor, Heavenly Voices, Voices of Praise and the Waco youth gospel choir, with a finale performance by the combined choirs.
"Gospel Fest unites gospel choirs from around Texas," said Heavenly Voices Vice President Joshua Porter. "It unites us in Christian fellowship with one another and with Christ."
Advanced tickets are available for $5 at the ticket office on the first floor of the Bill Daniel Student Center and can be purchased for $7 at the door.
