Renowned Irish Cultural Geographer To Lecture Feb. 16

Dr. David Livingstone, professor in the School of Geography at Queen's University, Belfast, will lecture at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, in room 100 Morrison Hall on the Baylor University campus. Livingstone's lecture, "Hermeneutics, Science and Incarnation," is free and open to the public.
A member of the Order of the British Empire and the Royal Irish Academy, Livingstone has research interests in the history and theory of geography, cartography, and scientific culture. During 1999-2001 he held a British Academy Research Readership to work on a project titled "The Spaces of Science." He is the author of the books Putting Science in Its Place: Geographies of Scientific Knowledge and Science, Space and Hermeneutics, as well as numerous book chapters and articles.
In 1998 he received the Centenary Medal of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. He has been chair of the History and Philosophy of Geography Research Group of the Royal Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers) and has served on the editorial boards of Annals of the Association of American Geographers and Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers, Isis.
